Podcasts are becoming an increasingly popular medium of information consumption with over 192,000 new podcasts launched in 2019 alone. The market has a low barrier to entry, but success as a podcaster depends on having a strong implementation strategy – not creative talent alone.
In a post for Podcast Business Journal, Proven Media Solutions founder Dustin Siggins examined what made some of the most downloaded podcasts so successful. The common theme for hosts Fred Diamond and Mark Silverman is their focus on understanding their target audience. Identifying and knowing the consumer, is the first step in their “ready, aim, fire” model for developing their programs.
Remember, no podcaster became a success overnight. In fact, the healthiest perspective for many is the realization of the value they’re building for the own brands. As Diamond himself says, “I doubled my business in 2019… in large part due to inviting prospects to be on my podcast.”
