The C-3PO effect: Why AI always needs the human touch
Stop us if you’ve this one: AI is going to replace human beings.
For some, that’s an exciting future of better outcomes for a lower price. For others, it’s a terrifyingly jobless future – just look at the Hollywood strike last year.
We have a different perspective: AI will always need the human touch, for the same reason that C-3PO knows six million forms of communication but STILL can’t communicate with Han Solo. As our recent CEO Magazine essay argued, without that touch:
- Content will look the same.
- Images will include black Nazis and female popes.
- And elephants WILL appear in the room.
Is AI the future of business, especially content creation? Yes. But so are humans.
